Currencies

Stores have one primary currency and one or more secondary currencies. Your store’s primary currency cannot be changed.

Adding a currency

To add a currency, follow these steps:

  1. In the Locales page, select Add Currency.

  2. Enter the following details:

    • Currency – refers to the official currency name and code (ISO 4217).
    • Decimal Separator – refers to the symbol separating the whole number and decimal. This option is prefilled based on the selected currency but can be manually changed.
    • Has Decimals – refers to the setting if you would like to display currency decimals for product prices. For instance, Japanese Yen (JPY) does not have decimals because 1 JPY is the lowest value. This option is prefilled based on the selected currency but can be manually changed.
    • Pattern – refers to the text pattern used to customize the appearance of prices.
    • Thousands Separator – Refers to the symbol separating thousands. This option is prefilled based on the selected currency but can be manually changed.
  3. Navigate to the Options tab to configure additional advanced settings.

  4. Configure the following options for the currency:

    • Allow customers to place orders in this currency – customers will be able to complete orders in this currency.
    • Markup Percentage – refers to a percentage fee to add to the value before performing the currency conversion. This option can be used to pass on currency conversion fees from your payment provider to customers.
    • Automatically convert to and from this currency – indicates if you would like to automatically convert prices using real-time market data supplied by Lana.
    • Set a custom currency exchange rate – indicates if you would like to manually set a currency exchange rate. When selected, an additional field appears for you to set the currency exchange value relative to your store’s primary currency.
  5. Select Save to save the new currency. If the currency is successfully added, it is displayed in the currency list.

Note: Currency data is supplied in accordance with the Lana Terms of Service.

Deleting a currency

To delete a currency, follow these steps:

  1. Navigate to the Locales page

  2. Select the currency from the Currencies section

  3. Select Edit

  4. Select the Delete button to permanently delete the currency**.**

  5. A confirmation dialog appears, select Delete to confirm the deletion or Keep to go back without deleting the currency.
