The total quantity received must be less than or equal to the quantity in the transfer for the product. If the transfer contains more items than recorded in the transfer, complete a manual inventory adjustment. Refers to the Inventory section for additional instructions.

You may also want to add a note to the original transfer explaining the exception for future reference.
